I’m a creative director and award-winning wedding and event stylist. This is a job title that might have you scratching your head slightly as you head into your wedding planning adventure. Let me break it down for you and explain what it is I actually do, and how I can help you to create a contemporary, stylish and totally unique wedding with real wow factor.
What’s A Wedding Stylist?
I deal with all things aesthetic. I’m not a wedding planner; I’m a designer, creator of mood boards, locater of one-of-a-kind props and décor, nurturer of ideas, transformer of venues, cultivator of atmosphere, lover of details and cheerleader for big, crazy, beautiful dreams.
Pinterest can be a blessing and a curse for the newly engaged – I’ll sit down with you and help you to navigate your ideas, streamlining, embellishing and refining them until you’ve got a cohesive and contemporary design scheme for your wedding day.
From the biggest statement piece to the tiniest finishing touch, my team and I will design, source, curate and create all of the visual elements of your wedding. I’ll make sure that everything is the right tone and style for your venue and your vision, and will be there on the day to style and set-up every last detail, leaving you to enjoy the big reveal and sense of wonder as you step across the threshold.
I’m based in the beautiful surroundings of The Cotswolds, which means I never have to go far before inspiration strikes. I find it in the world around me, from the books on my bedside table to the way the sunlight hits the biscuit-coloured stone of my neighbour’s house and lights it up. I have a very busy brain, and am constantly imagining how the things I’m looking at – whether art, architecture, food or film – can be translated into the world of weddings. The surprising extras and thoughtful little details are part of my signature, and I love helping to create an unforgettable atmosphere for each of the couples I work with.
When not working on weddings in my studio, you can find me in one of my local cafés, sipping a caramel latte (so sugary but so good) and indulging in a spot of people watching; hanging out at home with my lovely husband and baby son Jasper; or out and about among the hedgerows, at the mercy of my gorgeous but very cheeky dog, Aloy.
‘‘In the months leading into our wedding, Hollie went above and beyond to meet our somewhat untraditional wedding dreams. And when it came to the day, she didn’t just deliver but blew our minds. Hollie created an authentic setting filled with colour, imagination and class that all of our guests were completely overwhelmed by.’ – Naoise and Cam’
